Fifty-Nine High Schools across Nation Receive Grants from California Casualty for Athletic Programs

16 Apr

San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2012

Shrinking state education budgets, coupled with pressure to improve academic performance, has forced many schools to trim or even eliminate athletics. In many cases, coaches have subsidized programs out of their own pockets while student athletes have risked injury practicing with old and insufficient equipment. More and more, families who simply arent able are asked to foot the athletics bill. Among this years applicants, many represent economically disadvantaged student athletes who cannot afford to pay participation fees or purchase uniforms.

These types of situations concerned California Casualty Chairman and past CEO Thomas R. Brown, who enjoyed school athletics and understands their impact on self-esteem and leadership development.

Youth sports teach teamwork, discipline and that hard work pays off, Brown said. Theyre a valuable complement to lessons learned in school.

The California Casualty Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant program began a year ago, with $ 25,000 in grants across four states. Applications revealed such compelling need that the grant pool was tripled and eligibility expanded to all states for the second year of the program. This time around, 275 applications for assistance poured in. The 59 selected programs received grants ranging from $ 1,000 to $ 2,500 which will be used for equipment, uniforms, fees and other associated costs for athletic programs. A full listing of grant recipients is attached.

California Casualty has a 60-year relationship with education and school administration associations.

We understand the struggles they face every day, said Doug Goldberg, Senior Vice President. This is our way of giving back.

Headquartered in San Mateo, CA, with Service Centers in Arizona, Colorado and Kansas, California Casualty provides auto and home insurance products to educators, law enforcement, fire fighters and nurses in 44 states. Ranking of ABA Accredited Law Schools

06 Apr

Article by Andre Hansen

The U.S News and World Report began a ranking of ABA accredited law schools in —under its controversial “Top Schools Ranking” system. This ranking system has never received the blessing of the American Bar Association, the Association of American Law Schools nor that of the Law Schools Admission Council. The rankings are generally perceived by these three bodies as being too subjective, profit-oriented and arbitrary in the characteristics they measure and the value given to each one.

Rankings tend to generally influence the choice of intending law students, as top rankings are perceived as delivering superior program content and ensure better chances of securing jobs on graduation. These perceptions are generally not valid. Intending law students seeking admission into ABA accredited law schools are better off checking out several options and picking a school that matches their needs and individual situations. For instance, it makes no sense trying to seek admission into a so-called top-ranked law school whose school fees are way too high as opposed to another which delivers the same content and whose fees are more affordable.

Schools that consistently rank in the top 14The so-called “Top Fourteen” schools according to US News and World Report Rankings are listed as follows: * University of California, Berkeley School of Law, in Berkeley, CA.* University of Chicago Law School, University of Chicago, in Chicago, IL.* Columbia Law School, Columbia University, in New York, NY.* Cornell Law School, Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY.* Duke University School of Law, Duke University, in Durham, NC.* Georgetown University Law Center, Georgetown University, in Washington, DC.* Harvard Law School, Harvard University, in Cambridge, MA.* University of Michigan Law School, University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor, MI.* New York University School of Law, New York University, in New York, NY.* Northwestern University School of Law, Northwestern University, in Chicago, IL.* University of Pennsylvania Law School, University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, PA.* Stanford Law School, Stanford University, in Palo Alto, CA.* University of Virginia School of Law, University of Virginia, in Charlottesville, VA.* Yale Law School, Yale University, in New Haven, CT.

The American Bar Association and Law School Admission Committee publish an annual law school guide. This guide provides the reader with a set of standard data on which prospective law students can base their choice. It contains data on ABA accredited law schools in the United States. No attempt is made to rank law schools.

Pastor of Potter’s House in Dallas Texas Urges Treyvon Martin’s family and friends to forgive According to The Casual Christian

05 Apr

20px 10px 0
Wheaton, IL (PRWEB) 5 April 2012

Bishop TD Jakes of the Potter’s House has recently written a book entitled, “Let It Go: Sorry So you are forgiven,” the second April 2012 article in the Christian Post, “Bishop TD Jakes Speaks forgiveness when Trayvon Martin.” The title itself raises some questions. Seems that no innocent parties to adopt a conflict. What would the author applies this concept to victims of sexual abuse? In addition, the shepherds, which are projected forward to ask for forgiveness before the facts are known, are treated with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Although

Jakes says that “forgiveness does not excuse the author,” that he sees repentance as a condition for forgiveness. This need to rush to forgive incident is reminiscent of the Amish community in Indiana a few years ago, when a man took hostage of school children and killed some of them. Many of the Amish people were so eager, his forgiveness, the show completely ignores justice for the victims.

late Democratic senator from New York, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, the phrase that defines the difference down to the process, acceptable by the deviant behavior more gradually, as more and more often describe marked. In the Christian, this could be called a stoppage of the process definition of disobedience. It is a very common phenomenon among the followers of God. Today, the ease with which the Christian leaders offer absolution of sins to God in the Bible condemns prima facie evidence of his easygoing attitude toward the Word of God.

Jake takes the popular view that forgiveness is primarily a source of comfort for the victim. But in the classical Biblical sense, is the forgiveness for the church, as it is for the individual. Although it offers peace of the victim, but also brings justice for the perpetrators and by extension, the entire community. Without justice there is no resolution of the damage that would be the victim and the welfare of others are affected. Before the students Matthew joined the followers of Christ, he paid three times the excess amount of tax he had collected from his countrymen. Forgiveness for him was not complete until he made restitution.

soft on sin mentality of the German church marked the time of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German theologian, made famous by the churches of his time, because they are so eager to turn the other cheek is unknowingly added to the atrocities committed by Adolf Hitler to make. The problem with being so eager to extend forgiveness is that people recognize their ability and robs the evil.

there a place for forgiveness, but not against in court. In Luke 18:1-8 did, Jesus tells his disciples about a woman who kept pestering the judge not to hear his appeal against his opponents. His argument was so relentless that finally gave up and gave it right. Jesus did not offer this illustration that women should “let it go.” He was suggesting that their persistence paid off. He retired justice in the final.

Jesus is not indifferent to justice. In fact, his main beef with the Pharisees, which so engrossed in the details of the law that has ignored the most important issues of justice and mercy. Jesus never asked for forgiveness without repentance buddy a call from the offender, so be it.

must keep his credit, recognizes that Mr. Jakes, “” Forgiveness does not excuse the author, “and advises patience while swinging the facts of the case. also argues that forgiveness should not prevent justice. In these cases mentioned, His position is more in line with the writings of so many of his contemporaries. http://bit.ly/HcNfK1

Articles by Deepak Kulkarni

I am sure that the search for online law school has come to an end as you read this article. Yes, the days are gone when we endlessly search for information online prior to law school or other information, such as a master’s degree online, Law School, Hofstra Law School, or even have ranking Virginia Law School. Even without articles such as this, with the Internet, you need to log in and use one of the search engines to find information online law school you need.

begin Unfortunately, most prospective law students don ‘t attention to the process early enough. Ideally, preparations for the implementation of the law school years begin in advance. Obviously one of the benefits of thinking this is far from the opportunity to visit one of the undergraduate courses and degrees. For better or worse, your undergraduate GPA plays an important role in the implementation of the Harvard Law School, so you want them as close as possible to 4.0.

Choosing the right law school is a process that is different for everyone. Some people at the schools, which are limited in your area, some schools are limited in what they can afford, while others by what law schools have to accept limits in your school. There are a number of different factors influencing the choice of a law school, but it is very important to study law, the law will provide the best education they can meet their needs, select by geography, family, or customized to work.

willing to pay a high price for their books of the Law School. You may also be able to used books to find a cheaper price, but may not be worth it if the books have already been identified and marked.

Unlike many people out there, do not forget that even if this article related to the online law school does not cover all the basics you wanted, you can always check that none of the search engines like Google or Yahoo Search Dot Com Dot Com for information from law school to get more consistent relationship.

UC Berkeley also has one of the most popular schools of law schools in California. T is one of the worst of California’s law schools, with a lovely school in the Bay of San Francisco, and is considered one of the ten best law schools in the United States, much less the state of California. You have to treat all kinds of areas of law, the copyright laws of the environmental laws, the right of the child and family and stuff.

So I finally turned to the Internet, and there I finally found a really great e-book called covert tactics: Entering law school of your choice. It was about a man that strategies in e-book to 11 of the most prestigious law schools in the country to enter written. Even while working in a law firm that hundreds of thousands of dollars per year, the information that it to be as successful as it is now permitted, except if.

Law School is really for you? The area of law is much more diversified and ranges far beyond the courtroom by law. The opportunities, rewards, both financially and personally are great. But the law is not for everyone, in fact, is not for most and that’s good. Take your time and think about your decision.

We were pleased to know that many people find this article about the online law school and other Western Classification Law School, Law Program, and reports, and even the best law schools and useful information is not sufficient.
